A Different Realm...Called BOOKS...

Books have their own realm, their own world. Not actually one world but different worlds. Recently I heard this quote on books, " Normally a person lives only one life, but a person who reads books lives many lives, simultaneously". I found it too good & so true. Yes, indeed through books I got to see & feel many lives. I've seen Afghanistan through Khaled Hossieni's books A Thousand Splendid Suns & The Kite Runner. I've seen India at the time of partition through Khushwant Singh Ji's book, Train To Pakistan. I've lived in New york of around 1930s & had a profound glimpse of the life of a passionate architect named Howard Roark through Fountainhead by Ayn Rand. I've seen the pain & agony of a man in Search Of Silence by Rohan Narse and many more... The list is quite long. Recently I got in touch with hindi books & started reading them as well & they too are equally good, deep & full of learning. Books help us tremendously in understanding different point of views, different places, different people, different natures etc. They not only increase our vocabulary but help us grow as a person as well. The minute details one can describe in a book can never be described through movies. So, if one finds a movie good, based on a book, he must go for the book to get the whole feel. Books have the capability of changing lives. When we read a good book, just after finishing it we stick to its learning, but as the time moves on that learning decrease. But somehow somewhere they leave their traces deep within. Which stay there forever. One must read as many books as one can through out his life. It's okay if you have less time, doesn't matter, try to read only 3 to 5 pages per day, but read... Thanks for your time friends. Have a bookish day ahead!!! Medhavi :-)
