A Poem translated from Kahlil Gibran's poetry

Hi friends,

My last blog was a poetry about the comparison between a bird mother & a human mother. One of the seekers, Ms. Seema Deshpande, really cleared the doubts in my mind by sharing a poetic version of Mr. Kahlil Gibran. It touched me so much that I tried to translate it into hindi. Please have a look at both the versions & give me your kind feedback if I've done justice to it. Thank you Seema Ji.

English version:

Your children are not your children. They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself. They come through you but not from you, And though they are with you yet they belong not to you.

You may give them your love but not your thoughts, For they have their own thoughts. You may house their bodies but not their souls, For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams. You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you. For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.

You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth. The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite, and He bends you with His might that His arrows may go swift and far. Let your bending in the archer's hand be for gladness; For even as He loves the arrow that flies, so He loves also the bow that is stable.

Hindi Translation:

वे तुम्हारे होकर भी तुम्हारे नहीं,

वे तो जीवन की स्वयम के प्रति अभिलाषा के बच्चे हैं.

वे तुम्हारे द्वारा आए हैं किन्तु तुमसे नहीं,

हाँ, वे तुम्हारे साथ हैं किन्तु फिर भी तुम्हारी मिल्कियत नहीं.

तुम उन्हें प्रेम तो अवश्य दे सकते हो,

किन्तु अपने विचार नहीं.

चूँकि विचार तो उनके अपने होंगे.

तुम उनकी काया को तो अपना बना सकते हो,

किन्तु आत्मा को नहीं.

चूँकि उनकी आत्मा तो भविष्य के घर में बसती है.

जहाँ तुम नहीं जा सकते, सपने में भी नहीं.

तुम उन जैसा बनने का प्रयत्न तो कर सकते हो,

किन्तु प्रयास रहे कि वे तुम जैसे न बनने पाएँ.

चूँकि ज़िंदगी अतीत की ओर नहीं बढ़ती,

न ही कल में ठहरती है.

तुम वह कमान हो

जिसमें से वे जीवित बाणों के समान निकल कर आए हैं.

धनुषधारी राह पर बाण का चिन्ह अनंत में ही खोजता है.

और वही अपनी योग्यता से उसे सही दिशा में मोड़ता है.

ताकि उसके बाण शीघ्र और दूर जाएँ.

रहने दो, अपनी खुशी के लिए अपना मुड़ाव धनुषधारी के हाथ में ही रहने दो.

क्योंकि उसे भी तो अपने बाण से प्रेम है,

ठीक वैसे ही जैसे स्थिर कमान से प्रेम है.
