Joint Project of DFL (Dharma For Life) and JEIS (Jain Education Institute Support) ‘Swadheen – The Meri Bhavna Project’ for Grade 4 Launched

23rd November 2025 | Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi

The Jain Shiksha Pracharak Society (JSPS), one of India’s oldest educational institutions, marked its monumental 125th anniversary with the historic launch of “Swadheen – The Meri Bhavna Project” for Grade 4 students. The celebration, held at the iconic Talkatora Stadium, witnessed the presence of thousands of students, educators, trustees, and dignitaries from across the country. Chief Justice Vijendra Jain and IAS Vijetha Reddy graced the occasion as Chief Guests.

“Swadheen – The Meri Bhavna Project” is a pioneering value-education initiative designed to sow seeds of inner freedom, emotional maturity, compassion, ethical clarity, and self-awareness in young learners. Through carefully curated stories, practices, and reflections rooted in Jain values, the project aims to nurture a generation that is self-reliant in thought and pure in intention.

Designed specifically for 9–10-year-olds, Swadheen not only integrates Jain values of Ahimsa, Anekant, Aparigraha, and Saiyam but also helps students experience these values through emotion- and intention-based learning practices. The book includes interactive stories, reflections, and classroom activities along with daily bhavna practices for personal growth.

The project is expected to be rolled out across JSPS-affiliated schools and proposed for adoption at the national level- and possibly internationally- as part of value-based education.

Speaking at the launch, Dr. Shugan Jain, Secretary, JSPS, and the visionary mind behind Swadheen, said: “‘Swadheen’ is not merely a project—it is a movement to empower the minds and hearts of young children. For 125 years, JSPS has carried forward the mission of Jain education. Today, with this project, we make a promise to the next century—that every child shall grow with inner strength, ethical grounding, and the freedom that comes from self-awareness. ‘Meri Bhavna’ is our gift to the future.”

Dr. Medhavi Jain, Project Director and Founder, Dharma for Life, expressed: “Designing ‘Swadheen’ was a deeply spiritual and intellectual journey. We wanted Grade 4 children to develop emotional intelligence, clarity, and compassion at an early age. The practices in this module help them understand their feelings, manage their reactions, and cultivate bhavna—the purity of intention. This project aligns beautifully with NEP 2020’s vision of holistic education.”

Dr. Palakh Jain, Advisor to the Project and Associate Professor, School of Management, Bennett University, shared: “The greatest gift we can give children is the ability to be ‘Swadheen’—free within themselves. As an advisor, I saw how this project blends timeless Jain wisdom with modern pedagogy. It equips children not only to excel academically but also to live with purpose, compassion, and clarity. I am honoured to be part of this transformative initiative.”

The book is available on Amazon. Schools willing to implement this will be provided the books at no cost, subject to due diligence.
